Navigating the Competitive Landscape module
The Competitive Landscape module lets you explore drug assets across the global pipeline and run structured, side-by-side comparisons between the asset you are assessing in an Evaluation or Diligence (the "anchor asset") and competitive assets. Comparisons are powered by multiple AI intelligence sources - covering clinical evidence, regulatory history, deal history, and IP - unlocking a rigorous, evidence-backed view of where your asset sits relative to the field.
Navigating to the Competitive Landscape
From within any Assessment, select Competitive Landscape from the top navigation tab. The module is organized into two sub-tabs: "Search" and "Saved Comparisons".
The Search tab is where you find and select competitor assets and run comparisons. Saved Comparisons stores any comparisons you have previously saved for this Assessment.
Searching for competitor assets
The Search tab displays a grid showing the full landscape of competitive assets. Each card shows the owner company, asset name, indication, and target.
Use the filter panel on the left to narrow the results. Filters can be combined: for example, filtering by Target and Development Stage simultaneously to find late-stage assets with the same target.
Building a comparison
Once you have narrowed the results to a relevant set of assets, select up to four competitors to assess against your anchor asset. Follow these steps:
-
Select competitor assets by clicking the checkbox on each asset card you want to include. Selected assets appear in a tray at the bottom of the screen. You can select up to four. Each selected asset shows its name and company in the bottom tray, with a trash icon to remove it.
- Toggle to include anchor asset using the switch in the bottom-right of the tray. This is enabled by default and anchors your Assessment's asset in the first column of the comparison. Disable it if you want to compare competitors against each other without your asset.
- Click Compare to run the comparison. Prudentia will generate a structured, side-by-side analysis across all selected assets.
Reading the comparison
The comparison view is a structured table. The Parameter column runs down the left side, and each asset occupies its own column to the right. Your assessed asset's column is always first. Scroll down to move through all parameter sections.
The comparison table covers the following parameters for each asset:
- Competitive summary. A narrative overview of the asset's competitive position covering its mechanism, clinical progress, differentiation strategy, key risks, and how it sits relative to others in the space. This is the top-level read on the asset before diving into the detail rows.
- Clinical evidence. A structured breakdown of clinical trial data organized by phase. Each trial entry includes the NCT number (linked), trial design, sample size, dosing regimen, efficacy findings, and safety profile.
- Regulatory history. A chronological log of key regulatory events: IND clearances, orphan drug designations, FDA and EMA decisions, etc. Each entry includes the event type, date, and a brief description
- Milestone updates. Recent and upcoming program milestones including trial initiations, clinical data releases, program changes, and company guidance. Milestone updates draw on current intelligence and include dates; this section can be used for tracking competitive momentum and anticipating catalysts.
- IP landscape. Each entry includes the patent number, status (Granted / Pending), assignee, coverage geography, expiry date, and a description of the claims. Used to assess IP strength, freedom-to-operate considerations, and patent cliff timing.
Saving and exporting comparisons
From the comparison view, two actions are available in the top-right corner:
- Save Comparison. Saves the current view to the Saved Comparisons tab within this Assessment. Saved comparisons retain the selected assets, making it easy to return to a specific competitive view at any point in the deal lifecycle.
- Export Comparison. Exports the comparison as a downloadable file for sharing or presentation use
Saved comparisons tab
The Saved Comparisons tab stores all comparisons previously saved within this Assessment. From here you can reopen any saved comparison to review or update it, or export it without re-running the analysis. This is useful when tracking how the competitive picture evolves over the course of an Assessment
